Sports betting legalized in New York, with limitations
In January 2019, the New York State Gaming Commission released rules for betting in the state, basing its guidelines on the 2013 gaming expansion law.
Even before the first legal wagers were placed in July 2019, legislators began pushing for the authorization of online sports betting. Sen.
